How to Install SpeedTest CLI<\/h3>\n

Step 1<\/strong> \u2013 Login to your VPS as root or any user with superuser privilege (so you can use sudo). Windows users can make use of Putty <\/a>while Linux and Mac can use Terminal.<\/p>\n

Step 2<\/strong> \u2013 Download the SpeedTest Python-based script using wget command:<\/p>\n

wget https:\/\/raw.github.com\/sivel\/speedtest-cli\/master\/speedtest.py<\/pre>\n
Step 3<\/strong> \u2013 Now do some chmod little trick:<\/p>\n
chmod a+rx speedtest.py<\/pre>\n
Step 4<\/strong> \u2013 Move the file to appropriate location:<\/p>\n
mv speedtest.py \/usr\/local\/bin\/speedtest<\/pre>\n
Step 5<\/strong> \u2013 Now chown the script to user and group root:<\/p>\n
chown root:root \/usr\/local\/bin\/speedtest<\/pre>\n
